Clinical Interest: Bronchopulmonary dysplasia, pulmonary hypertension, necrotizing enterocolitis, neonatal nutrition, and quality improvement. Dr. Kuo has served as site principal investigator for several multicenter research studies and quality improvement initiatives. She has also mentored numerous students, residents and fellows for their research projects. She has taught quality improvement workshops internationally with the Canadian Neonatal Network, Evidence-based Practice for Improving Quality Program (CNN-EPIQ) for the past 10 years.
Community Involvement: Dr. Kuo is the medical director for the Kapiʻolani Pediatric and Neonatal Transport Team and Pulmonary Hypertension Team. She is also an Associate Medical Director for the Hanuola ECMO program. She has been a long-standing member of the Board of Directors for Hawaii Mothers’ Milk, Inc., a local non-profit organization dedicated to helping families achieve their breastfeeding goals. She has also been a council member for the American Academy of Pediatrics District VIII Section on Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine since 2005. After serving as the organization’s treasurer for 6 years, she recently completed her tenure as chair of the organization.
