Community Involvement: He is the Division Chief of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the University of Hawaiʻi Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Eakin is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the American College of Emergency Medicine (ACEP) where he has served on the local Hawaii Board of Directors for many years. He is also a past president of the Hawaiʻi ACEP chapter. Dr. Eakin has served on the PREP-Emergency Medicine editorial board for AAP for 6 years. He has multiple journal articles and textbook chapter publications and has given presentations on the national and international level.
