Clinical Interest: In collaboration with nursing and respiratory staff, Dr. Fakaosita is involved in a logitudinal quality improvement project regarding the management of hospitalized children with bronchiolitis. Dr. Fakaosita is the Individualized Educational Unit (IEU) Coordinator and Recruitment & Selection Co-Chair for the UH Pediatric residency program. As the IEU Coordinator, she works with each second and third year resident on creating individualized rotation curriculum experiences to enhance their residency training exposure. Additionally, along with Dr. Kono she is the 4th year Pediatric Wards Sub-I Co-. She has presented several teaching lectures and workshops on a variety of topics including medical student boot camps featuring sessions in medical communication skills and resident note writing and documentation. She is a resident faculty adviser and medical student preceptor.

Research Interest: Medical education and expanding access to, and quality of, healthcare in rural areas of Hawaii.
Community Involvement: Dr. Fakaosita is the Individualized Educational Unit (IEU) Coordinator and Recruitment & Selection Co-Chair for the UH residency program.
