Clinical Interest: She strives to continue to provide safe and effective care to patients across their stay at Kapiʻolani by working closely with nursing staff of the inpatient unit, interfacing with all of the deparments of the hospital.
Community Involvement: Dr. Kosut is the Division Chief for the Pediatric Hospitalist Department at Kapiʻolani Medical Center for Women and Children. She is the Chair of Quality Council where she reviews quality measures for Pediatrics, OB/Gyn, Anesthesia and Surgery and coordinates a systemic, organization-wide approach for improving and sustaining patient care and services outcomes. Dr. Kosut also is a part of the Hawai‘i IDeA Center for Pediatric and Adolescent Clinical Trials and has been working with Dr. May Okihiro on understanding caregiver knowledge and attitudes about pediatric clinical trials in Hawai‘i. Additionally, she is a site lead on the SCORE project at Kapiʻolani in order to bring the IPASS structure to Family Centered Rounds and to increase nurse and caregiver participation on rounds in order to improve safety. Dr. Kosut sits on several hospital committees, including Medical Executive Committee, Alapono Committee, the Pediatrics Committee and the Pediatrics Peer Review Committee. She is a medical student advisor, an advisor for the medical school Pediatric Interest Group (PIG), and an interviewer for prospective residents. Finally, she also sits on the medical advisory board for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
